Deneice wears many hats at Building Impact Partners: she’s a Senior Associate and our People and DEI leader. She is a woman of action. She enjoys translating intention into results by leveraging people’s strengths and creating the appropriate structures, solving problems by bringing people together, and keeping others organized through project plans, lists, and calendar efforts. As the first in her family to graduate college, Deneice has seen what higher education has done in her life and believes strongly that our systems for education, housing, criminal justice, and other social impact areas must change to center equity. Deneice’s previous experience as the district program manager of virtual learning and high school credit recovery for Chicago Public Schools allowed her to work with over 100 high schools throughout the district, providing alternative paths for students to earn high school credit and graduate. She started her career working for JPMorgan Chase and became a savvy operations leader managing change, implementing new tools and processes, and executing against a set vision. Deneice is a graduate of Florida A&M University where she received both a bachelor’s and an MBA. She is a former Broad Resident and received a master’s in educational leadership from The Broad Center. She is also an alum of The Equity Lab’s Nexus Fellowship, which equipped her with the tools to become the DEI leader of the organization.
- An Orlando native, you can often find Deneice visiting the one of the many beaches near her all year round—it’s her happy place.
- It is important to Deneice to serve her community, so she often volunteers through United Way, has been part of a giving circle called 100 Women Strong, and participated in a boardroom leadership program to help local organizations seeking to expand and diversify their boards.
- Deneice and her partner, Jon, enjoy cooking and trying new recipes on the weekends.
