As a Principal, Darryl works with clients from ideation to execution, centering relationships and authentic partnerships every step of the way. He believes lasting change happens when people feel seen, heard, and empowered to act, and he’s built his career helping teams and communities turn shared vision into real impact. Known for his collaborative spirit and ability to bring people together across lines of difference, Darryl helps clients move from big ideas to meaningful, sustained outcomes. Before joining Building Impact, he held executive leadership roles in regional and national organizations across K–12, higher education, and the nonprofit sector, including Teach For America, the University of California, Berkeley, and Generation USA, leading diverse teams and large-scale initiatives focused on access and equity. He also ran his own consulting practice, advising mission-driven organizations on strategic growth, business development, and partnership advancement. A proud graduate of North Carolina State University and the University of Georgia, Darryl began his journey as a second-grade teacher in the Mississippi Delta – an experience that cemented his belief in education as a gateway to opportunity and access. He now calls Jacksonville, Florida, home with his wife, Erica, and their three brilliant daughters, who keep him laughing, learning, and grounded.

- A lover of all things active, he’s often playing sports, coaching his girls, or watching a game while gearing up for his next duathlon.
