As Chief Operating Officer at Building Impact Partners, Latricia Barksdale leads the firm’s internal operations with the goal of ensuring the team and its systems are aligned and energized to deliver on the mission: harnessing the power of philanthropy to tackle society’s most urgent challenges. Latricia has dedicated her career to expanding educational, career, and life opportunities for people of color and others holding marginalized identities. Her passion for driving meaningful, systemic change is rooted in her llived experiences, shaped by her work in the social sector, and fueled by her belief in the power of working in true partnership with those closest to the issues. After starting her career in investment banking, Latricia transitioned to the social impact space where she has held senior leadership roles at national nonprofits, leading strategy, talent, finance, and operations functions. She is also a trusted coach to senior executives, offering empathy, insight, and candor to help them tap into their purpose and lead with confidence. Whether guiding organizations to develop strategic plans, strengthen leadership teams and culture, design equity-centered talent systems, or lead change efforts, Latricia shows up with a belief that work can be both rigorous and joyful. She holds a degree in Economics and Public Policy Studies from Duke University, with a minor in African & African American Studies. Latricia is a proud alumna of the Sponsors for Educational Opportunities (SEO) and Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT) programs, serves on the board of the Black Teacher Collaborative, and is a member of the Junior League of Atlanta.
